CLOSING OF LANSING FIRE STATIONS – Public Meeting Announcement

PRESS RELEASE FOR LANSING CITY COUNCIL

#45 (TODD STREET) AND #47 (JENISON STREET)

On July 28, 2011, the Public Safety Committee will hold an
informational meeting regarding the closing of Stations #45 (Todd
Street) and #47 (Jenison Street). This will provide an opportunity for
the pubic to ask questions, voice concerns, and give suggestions as to
impact in their neighborhoods to the two closed Fire Stations.

Fire Chief Cochran will join the Committee to answer questions and
share information on how the Fire Department will now handle calls to
these areas in the future as well as the fate of Lansing’s oldest
station on Jenison Street, built in 1925, and Station 45 best known for
Engine 45, which makes all extrication calls in Lansing.
