From the Lansing Board of Water and Light:
The 17th annual BWL Chili Cook-off takes center stage on Saturday, June 2, promising to heat up the evening with spicy delicacies and live music.
As in the past, a chili-cook-off ticket transports patrons to a veritable “river of chili” — more than 1,500 gallons were served last year.
Contestants will compete for best chili braggin’ rights, and patrons can sample dozens of lip-smacking, tongue-teasing chili recipes from local restaurants, businesses and organizations.
The best part is, proceeds go to supporting three great, local non-profits: Impression 5 Science Center/Adopt a River, HOPE Scholarship Connections Program and the Sparrow Foundation.
This year’s chili cook-off theme is “Rocking with the 80s”, a tribute to the 1980s.
Chili Cook-off details:
When: Saturday, June 2, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.
